Don't get me wrong, traveling with friends, family or a partner is also fun. But traveling solo gives you so much more benefits. You will find more details if you keep reading the post...
I won't lie to you, it gets lonely sometimes, but those lonely times are beneficial to understand why you feel this way. It is also necessary to to go through it, in order to appreciate company even more. Here's 3 reasons why you should travel solo :
1. It's a way to find yourself
When we're surrounded by others all the time, we tend to lose our individuality (see - The psychology of the crowd - Gustave LeBon) and follow the dynamic of the group. If you spend enough alone time, you will know more about YOUR core values, YOUR ambitions, what's important to YOU.
With all of this, self-confidence and self-trust will come naturally. Finding yourself is very important to realize you don't need anybody to feel whole.
2. You can do whatever you want
Do you feel like going to the next city because the one you're in is boring? You can! If you're traveling with other people, we have to make compromises. It is real freedom when you do whatever you want depending on YOUR needs of the moment.
3. You will never be alone
Trust me, whether you are introvert or extrovert, you will meet much more people. Contrary to what we see in the media, people are generally good. In fact, people are more likely to come to talk to you if you're alone, than surrounded by other people. There's also a lot of solo travelers in hostels. Every solo traveler is generally open to meet new people ; you won't struggle to make friends.

I've always thought about travelling alone but I haven't taken the plunge, your article has helped me a lot and I'm thinking of taking the plunge soon, I hope to tell you all about it soon!
Hello. I really like those reasons you share to us. In fact, if I did not already travel alone, I love spending time by myself : for a walk, at the beach, going to the restaurant. It is totally clear that you can enjoy your time as you : no pressure from others. Maybe, the only struggle we can face is as a woman. Travelling alone can be dangerous, but fortunately since five years some Facebook groups been created to gather solo-travelers woman. 😁
It's really amazing to share your experience through this blog which is rich of beautiful pictures. Totally agreed on the "solo-travel"; I've also been travelling by myself and I can confirm this is the best way to focus on yourself and to meet a lot of people around.
This post can give courage to travel alone (even if, as you said, we are introverted) !
I know a few people who have traveled alone and their feedback was the same : positive, freedom and great encounters!
Thanks for that 😉
